Is it just incredibly fucked up that the fact that the world won't end at all, but will just go on as it always has, adapting and evolving, while our species disappears, leaving nary a trace, brings me comfort?

That's a rhetorical question.

I didn't include bike riding, because, having lived for most of my adult life in two of the oh...two cities in the U.S. with reliable public transit, it's not something I think about much. Generally, my carbon footprint is probably really tiny, just by virtue of living in a really urban area, but I can't take credit for that.

Ultimately, I'm kind of okay with the world ending.

I do one through six, and thirteen. I also ride my bike around town, like to whole foods where I use my canvas bags to buy organic, vegan food. You didn't put biking on the list, but I wanted to make sure I got credit for it.

Joking aside, I know you are right - but like several things on this list, this is one of those that I always vaguely intend to do, but never remember that one time in a year when I actually go out and buy lightbulbs.

"Find a drugstore that sells those curly lightbulbs, and then spend the money on them;"

I do use the curly lightbulbs, not because of my love of the environment, but because I am CHEAP and LAZY. The bulbs are very inexpensive at Ikea, and, since electricity is the only utility not already included in my rent, using the low energy bulbs feeds my inner skinflint. Furthermore, they last forever. I've been living in my apt. for a year now and have not yet had to change a light bulb. Anything that keeps me from having to hop up on a ladder is worth it.
